Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping

Taylor Engineering has identified hydrologic and coastal flood risks for over 20 years. We have worked on over 50 Flood Insurance Studies for FEMA, fully developing over 40 of them for counties in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. These comprehensive, countywide engineering studies include analyses of riverine and coastal flood hazards. From the mountainous conditions and supercritical flows in areas of Tennessee and North Carolina to the flat coastal floodplains of Louisiana and Florida, we have identified flood risks in many different environmental conditions. We have worked closely with federal, state, local governments, and technical partners to produce quality analyses that apply the latest technologies in hydrodynamic modeling and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Working from the latest GIS data, Taylor Engineering has the capability to produce Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRM) with the highest quality.
