Flagler Drive Downtown Waterfront Seawall Replacement

The City of West Palm Beach contracted Taylor Engineering to revise its previous design for the Flagler Drive seawall between the Palm Harbor Marina and the Royal Palm (SR 704) Bridge. The 3,220-foot long seawall protects the City's downtown waterfront and Flagler Drive. Upland land use changes and conditions associated with new grant funding dictated the design revisions. Taylor Engineering prepared the revised seawall design drawings and the construction specifications to meet the City's fast-track schedule for contract award and construction. Seawall design met Federal Department of Transportation design standards. Taylor Engineering coordinated with regulatory agencies to obtain a "de minimis" permit exemption for seawall reconstruction. Taylor Engineering assisted the City with bid review and provided construction observation services for this project.
